Lot description: The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. Charles II. 1660-1685. AR Sixpence (27mm, 3.09 g, 2h). First hammered issue. London mint; im: crown. Struck November 1660-October 1661. Crowned bust left / Coat-of-arms over short cross moline. Bull, Silver 274; ESC 1507; North 2765; SCBC 3309. Slight trace of double striking on obverse. Purplish toning with underlying brilliance. EF. Rare thus. Ex N. Asherson (Spink 6, 10 October 1979), lot 158, purchased from Spink, August 1957; E.C. Carter Collection (purchased en bloc by Baldwin's, 1950); H.
