The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. The Commonwealth, 1649-1660.
AR Shilling (31mm, 6.14 g, 2h). London mint; im: anchor. Dated 1658. Coat-of-arms within wreath of palm frond and olive branch / Two coats-of-arms; XII (mark of value) above. Bull, Silver 161; ESC 998; North 2725; SCBC 3218.
Minor double striking on reverse otherwise mint state. Dove grey toning with electric blue
lustre. Superb EF. Unequalled for a mint mark anchor Shilling. Extremely rare thus.
