Lot description: The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. The Commonwealth, 1649-1660. AR Halfcrown (36mm, 15.11 g, 6h). London mint; im: sun. Dated 1651. Coat-of-arms within wreath of palm frond and olive branch / Two coats-of-arms; II VI (mark of value) above. Bull, Silver 22; ESC 426; North 2722; SCBC 3215. Full and round. Slightest cabinet friction on high points. Toned with underlying lustre. EF. Very rare in this state.
