| Lot description: The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. Charles I 'Fine Work' Shillings of the Tower Mint. AR Halfcrown (35mm, 14.70 g, 7h). Worcester mint; im: –. Struck 1644-1645. Charles on horseback left, holding sword and reins, annulet stops / Crowned coat-of-arms, roses in legend. Allen, Mints C-17 and pl. i, 17 = Brooker 1149 (this coin); Bull 669/17 (this coin illustrated); North 2592; SCBC 3100. On a somewhat irregular flan as usual.
