The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. Charles I 'Fine Work' Shillings of the Tower Mint.
AR Shilling (31mm, 6.17 g, 4h). Declaration type. Bristol mint; im: pellet. Dated 1644. Crowned bust left with stellate lace pattern; small plumes to left, XII (mark of value) to right / REL : PRO :/ LEG : ANG :/ LIB : PAR :/ 1644/ (BR); plume and two plumelets above. Morrieson, Oxford C-5; Brooker 998 (same dies); North 2501; SCBC 3016A.
Toned. Good VF.
