Lot description: The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. Charles I 'Fine Work' Shillings of the Tower Mint. Pattern AR Sixpence (28mm, 2.80 g, 4h). London mint; im: plume. Struck 1630-1631. Crowned bust left; VI (mark of value) to right / Coat-of-arms; plume above, C R flanking. Brooker –; North 2699. A most handsome coin. Machine struck on a full round flan. Deep tone with much golden lustre. Choice EF. Excessively rare. Ex S.A. Bole (Dix Noonan Webb 89, 29 September 2010 lot 1568; B.R. Osborne (Glendining, 23 April 1991), lot 242; H.M.
