Lot description: The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. Charles I. 1625-1649. AR Crown (44.5mm, 30.16 g, 5h). Group II, type 2a. London mint; im: harp (over rose over plume)/harp. Struck 1632-1633. Charles on caparisoned horse left, holding sword over shoulder and reins / Coat-of-arms over cross fourchée. Cooper, Silver dies X*/XVI; Brooker 248 (same dies); North 2193; SCBC 2755. Very well struck. Rich old tone. Near EF. Rare and with a medallic quality. Ex Glendining (18 November 1970), lot 97.
