| Lot description: The Geoffrey Cope Collection of British Coins. Elizabeth I. 1558-1603. AR Halfcrown (36mm, 14.92 g, 2h). Seventh issue. London mint; im 1. Struck 1601-1602. Crowned and draped bust left, holding lis-tipped scepter and orb, and wearing ruff / Coat-of-arms over long cross fourchée. BCW 1-1/1-a1; North 2013; SCBC 2583 (this coin illustrated). Bold strike on a broad flan. Toned with hints of brilliance on reverse. Near EF. Rare thus. Ex A. Wayne (Classical Numsimatic Group 72, 14 June 2006), lot 2600; J. M.
