A collection of the Kings and Queens of England, from the Wessex beginnings of King Ecgberht through his dynasty that fought the Viking Great Army and eventually united the Anglo-Saxon Heptarchal kingdoms into England. A complete set of Kings and Queens, with a Danish penny of Swein Forkbeard who was crowned Christmas Day 1013 but died of his wounds months later, a remarkable Groat of Henry IV who is often missing from collections, or seen in fractions of marginal grade, an authentic Groat of Edward V in the correct die chain, the extremely rare Edward Boar's head Groat which is the initial issue, for just a fortnight, of Richard III and marks the young princes sent to the Tower. Many of these coins are of the highest condition, many perhaps finest known. A star-spangled collection of charming coins of England, by an American collector who loves history.
