Lot description: German States Saxony. Friedrich August II gold 10 Taler 1756-EC VF Details (Repaired) PCGS, Leipzig mint, KM975, Fr-2857. A rare Polish-Saxon emission and the largest denomination produced by the Leipzig mint at the behest of Friedrich August II, who was attempting to introduce large gold circulation coinage in Poland at the time. Though not in the best state of preservation available for the type, the piece remains well struck-up and boasts a nice caramel patina, just the obverse fields indicating some intervention, as noted by PCGS. Indisputably scarce and somewhat affordable here, sure to be snagged by someone in pursuit of filling this type in their collection. https://coins.ha.com/itm/german-states/saxony/german-states-saxony-friedrich-august-ii-gold-10-taler-1756-ec-vf-details-repaired-pcgs-/a/3115-32527.s?type=DA-DMC-CoinArchives-WorldCoins-3115-05082024 HID02906262019 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved |
