George II silver Specimen "Canada Subdued" Medal 1760 SP62 PCGS, Eimer-680, Betts-430, MI-711/448. 39mm. 24.32gm. By Pingo. WILLIAM PITT ADMINISTRING on edge. The first silver example of this important Canadian medal we have had the pleasure to offer in over a decade. The design features a bust of George II on the obverse and a captive Canadienne at the base of a pine tree on the reverse. John Pingo's dies are an elegant homage to the Judea Capta series of ancient Rome. This example is wholly original with a thick cabinet patina that still manages to yield significant luminosity in the fields.
