| Lot description: Great Britain Victoria Proof "Gothic" Crown 1847 PR64 Cameo NGC, KM744, S-3883, ESC-2578a (R2). Plain edge. N over inverted N in UNITA variety. Struck in pure silver. A stunning rendition of this rare subvariety, distinguished by the pure silver planchet and plain edge. Of the surprisingly few we've seen in recent years compared to the numerous standard UNDECIMO types, this remains among the finest, bested only by the PR65 that crossed the six-figure mark in May of 2022. On offer here is a fine mix of visual and conditional superiority, the cornflower blue canvas largely devoid of significant imperfection hosting the frosted "Gothic" bust of Victoria. The reverse design carries a polychromatic reflectivity throughout, notably elevating the raised devices that contribute to the advanced conditional superlative. With this in mind, we expect a response commensurate with the rapidly growing collector interest for rarities of the "Gothic" series. Ex.
