| Lot description: Great Britain Henry VIII (1509-1547) gold 1/2 Sovereign ND (1544-1547) MS60 NGC, Southwark mint, S mm, Third Coinage, S-2297, N-1828, Schneider-621 var. (reverse legend). 6.12gm. Rarely is this type witnessed in confidently Mint State assignments, frequently seeing bends, damage to the edges, and outright use in jewelry. While admittedly unevenly struck, those features where the dies did find their mark are incredibly handsomely engraved and boldly finished, the whole of the features presented on a full, unclipped planchet.
