| Lot description: Great Britain Victoria gold "Inverted A for V" Sovereign 1850 AU55 PCGS, KM736.1, S-3852C, Marsh-33A (R4). "Inverted A over V in VICTORIA" variety. Arguably the most sought-after of 1850 dated varieties, and always greeted with enthusiastic bidding activity. Light doubling observed in VICTORIA, scuffs and marks to the Queens bust noted for completeness. Presently tied for the highest awarded grade with one other piece at PCGS. Ex.
