| Lot description: Great Britain Victoria gold "Shield" Sovereign 1843 MS63 PCGS, KM736.1, S-3852, Marsh-26. A pale-gold Choice selection with a remarkably cooler undertone compared to its same-dated peers. While the obverse fields show signs of handling and light wisps, there is residual luster concentrating in the protected areas towards the edge. Turning to reverse, the silky fields are simply sublime, bathing in cartwheeling luster.
