| Lot description: Great Britain George III gold Sovereign 1820 MS63 PCGS, KM674, S-3785C, Marsh-4 (S). Large date, open 2 variety. Conditionally scarce and very desirable at this level and higher. A green-tinged selection, with interesting die-fill noted on the two A's of BRITANNIA. An old mark on the king's cheek noted for completeness. The 1820 release marks the concluding year of the 'modern' Sovereign series with a garter, first launched in 1817, and consistently captivates both type collectors and aficionados of British gold coins.
