| Lot description: India British India. William IV Proof Restrike Rupee 1835.-(c) PR66 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM450.2, S&W-1.43. Type D/IV. Raised "F" mintmark on truncation. A conditional rarity of this already contentious type, ranked alone at the top of certified population at NGC. The Proof appeal is most visible on the reverse, where an argent base pairs with gunmetal-lavender tone at the peripheries, contrasted on the obverse by comprehensive oil spill patination.
