Lot description: George III (1760-1820), Emergency Issues, Bank of England, Dollar, 1804, struck over [Charles IV, 8-Reales], laureate and draped bust right, leaf to upright of E, rev. Britannia seated left within crowned oval band, plain edge struck over engrained edge, 26.96g, 12h (ESC 144; Bull 1925; Spink 3768), with very little trace of undertype from the hoist coin, more evident to the edges, cleaned and soft to the devices, yet a hint of tone to the peripheries, very fine; and Bank of England, Three-Shillings, 1812, second laureate bust right, rev. denomination and date within wreath, plain edge, 14.76g, 11h (Davis 52; ESC 416; Bull 2079; Spink 3770), wiped, nevertheless with a residual lustre and faintly speckled toning within the legends about extremely fine (2).
