Charles I (1625-1649), Group C, Class IIa, 'Fine Work' Unite, 1630-1631, Tower, CAROLVS D G MAG BRIT FR ET HIB REX, wire line inner circle within beaded circle both sides, crowned draped bust 3a left, wearing ruff, value XX behind, rev. FLORENT CONCORDIA REGNA, crowned oval quartered coat of arms, pellets in field, C-R flanking either side, six strings to Irish harp, raised die flaw after legend, 8.94g [137.9grns], 1h, m.m. plume (cf. Brooker 68; cf. Schneider II, 137; cf. Slaney II, 302; North 2150; Spink 2690), small edge bruise on obverse at 7 o'clock, the fields lightly brushed but retaining residual lustre, uniformly struck up for type, a most pleasingly bold very fine to near extremely fine in parts, very rare.
