FRANCE, Second Empire. Napoléon III. 1852-1870. Altered CU 10 Centimes (30mm, 8.92 g, 6h). Napoléon's Humiliation at Sedan. Made circa 1870. 1854 D 10 Centimes, altered to depict Napoléon in an amalgam of a Prussian pickelhaube and a knit peasant's cap, with long beard and pipe and cavalry spur at neck (the spur engraved around a hole). Collignon, Guerre p. 56 note. Brown surfaces, holed. Near Fine.
