(t) CHINA. Sinkiang. Dollar, 1949. Sinkiang Pouring Factory Mint. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, EF Details.
L&M-843; K-1275; KM-Y-46.5; WS-1328. "One yuan" filled in; pointed-base "1" with long serif; "1-9-4-9" in Chinese characters. A handsome representative of this SCARCE and sought-after variant featuring a rendering of the Gregorian date in Chinese numerals. Despite a past cleaning, this Dollar preserves great clarity of detail with even, moderate wear which gives it an honest appearance.

Estimate: $600 - $900

(t) CHINA. Sinkiang. Dollar, 1949. Sinkiang Pouring Factory Mint. PCGS Genuine--Harshly Cleaned, AU Details.
L&M-842; K-1275; KM-Y-46; WS-1326. Though this Dollar is unquestionably cleaned, the "harshly" verbiage is perhaps undeserved, as the coin remains quite presentable and retains a fair amount of its luster. Escaping excessive wear, its details display quite clearly across both sides.

Estimate: $600 - $900

Match 3:
Stack's Bowers Galleries (& Ponterio) > April 2024 Hong Kong AuctionAuction date: 15 April 2024

(t) CHINA. Dollar, ND (1927). PCGS Genuine--Rim Damage, VF Details.
L&M-51F; cf. KM-Y-318A (for prototype); WS-0165-3. "Military" or "Warlord" type; variety with "RIRTH" in place of "BIRTH" in reverse legend. A fairly SCARCE and interesting military issue with a clear misspelling on the reverse, this example does exhibit some noted rim damage, but still offers clear indication of the engraving mistake.

Estimate: $600 - $900

(t) CHINA. Chihli (Pei Yang). 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), Year 23 (1897). Tientsin (East Arsenal) Mint. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, EF Details.
L&M-444; cf. K-186; KM-Y-65.1; WS-0609. Variety with round-eyed (spectacled) dragon with long horns. Deeply toned and quite nice overall with a small granular area beneath the Y in TWENTY that must have been the reason for the "details" grade.

Estimate: $1000 - $1500
