KM-128; Basso-56; PNM#6-Unlisted; PNM#16-257; PNM#21-VIII-77; Cacho-IX-CS-73; Gil-5-3-2-IV. Issued by decree of 20 December 1834, suppressed 31 March 1837 (By Decree of 1 February 1836). Countermark: Type VI, crowned Y.II. within circular indent. Applied to the obverse of a 1824-Mo JM Mexico Republic "Hookneck" 8 Reales, curled snake variety (KM-A376.2). The countermark is well applied, though slightly uneven, to a nicely preserved moderately worn host. The surfaces display rich slate patina with a slight iridescent sheen adding to its pleasing appearance and originality. An ever popular RARE host from this series that is sure to garner much attention from collectors.
