PHILIPPINES. Philippines - Guatemala. 8 Reales, ND (ca. 1832-34). Manila Mint. Ferdinand VII. PCGS Genuine--Graffiti, VF Details; Countermark: VF Details.
KM-55; Basso-55; PNM#6-93; PNM#16-61; PNM#21-VIII-34; Gil-5-4-*(1)-A. Countermark: Type V, crowned F.7.0 with circular indent. Applied to the reverse of a 1829-NG M Guatemala (Central American Republic) 8 Reales (KM-4). This ever popular host type exhibits a deeply applied countermark on a decently preserved host with even wear. The surfaces displays rich slate patina with areas of lighter coloration. Close inspection reveals several scratches from long ago, now toned over matching the rest of the coin. A presentable example of the type with a wholesome appearance.
