Korea
Yi Hyong 5 Yang Year 501 (1892) AU55 NGC, Incheon mint, KM1114, JNDA 18-5, CKCB-30.1. An incredibly popular one-year Korean "Crown" issue that is especially prized at the upper echelons of preservation. While this coin does not reach Mint State, it's an unbelievable example of how nice a Choice AU example can present. Barely a hint of circulation, and gentle circulation at that, has rendered this specimen with nearly full luster, and the obverse is especially appealing as it has obtained a warm autumnal glowing patina in addition to the ample residual luster. An ideal choice for those seeking this prized type but still prefer their coins spent some amount of actual time in circulation.
