Lot description:

GREAT BRITAIN. Gold 1000 Pounds, 2018. Llantrisant Mint. Queen's Beasts, Black Bull of Clarence. Elizabeth II. SUPERB-GEM PROOF.
S-QBCE4. AGW: 32.1507 oz. Mintage: 9 maximum. This stunning and extremely hefty example delivers a virtually perfect technical precision, with sharp cameo contrast and exceptionally imparted details. An entirely pleasing representative of an ultra-modern type with an ultra-low mintage, a winning combination.

The Queen's Beast Series was produced in honor of 10 Heraldic statues that represent the Genealogy of Queen Elizabeth II. The statues were placed in an Annex of Westminster Abbey for the Queen's coronation in 1953, with each statue weighing approximately 700 Pounds and being 6 Feet tall. The statues now reside in the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec. This example features the Black Bull of Clarence, associated with the house of York and first appearing on Royal Arms in the 1560s.

Estimate: $65000 - $75000
