Lot description:

GREAT BRITAIN. Anne Coronation Silver Medal, 1702. London Mint. PCGS MS-61.
MI-228/4; Eimer-390. By J. Croker. Mintage: 1,200. Diameter: 35mm. Obverse: Diademed and draped bust left; Reverse: Anne (as Pallas-Athena) standing right, holding shield and hurling thunderbolt at two-headed and four-armed serpentine monster (James 'III' and Louis XIV) to right, holding rocks and clubs. Offering a light gray tone and some rather enticing pastel iridescence, this heavily allegorical issue presents great detail among aspects such as the shield and the serpentine heads hissing at the tail-end of the monarchical monster.

Estimate: $1000 - $2000
