GREAT BRITAIN. William III & Mary II Coronation Gold Medal, 1689. London Mint. NGC AU Details--Removed from Jewelry.
MI-662/25; Eimer-312A. By J. Roettier. Mintage: 715. Diameter: 35mm. Obverse: Jugate draped busts of William, laureate, and Mary right; Reverse: Jupiter seated right among the clouds with an eagle, hurling thunderbolts downward toward Phaethon, escaping from chariot advancing right. Always popular on account of its reverse iconography, this RARER type in gold does exhibit some time spent in jewelry, but nevertheless stands as a great representative of a difficult emission.

Estimate: $3000 - $5000
