CHINA. Yunnan Sanchuo Jieding. Provincial Three Stamp Remittance Ingots. Silver 5.75 Tael Bank Ingot, ND. VERY FINE.
BMC-Class LXVI Group I # 933. Weight: 205.75. "萬泰朵記匯號紋銀" (Wantaiduo Bank, remittance bank fine silver), "官公估童佘看" (Inspected by official public assayers Tong and She), "官公估周陳看" (Inspected by official public assayers Zhou and Chen). This handsome and original looking ingot displays attractive rich gray patina with minor earthen deposits amongst the devices. The outer stamps are deeply applied with clear inscriptions, while the central stamp exhibits the typical weakness in the center. The left assay stamp is nicely centered with a mostly clear inscription whereas the right stamp is slightly cockeyed, but clear. A wholesome looking piece that is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
