| Lot description: (t) CHINA. Yunnan Sanchuo Jieding. Provincial Three Stamp Remittance Ingots. Silver 4.75 Tael Bank Ingot, ND. Graded AU 58 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company. BMC-Class LXVI Group I # 857. Weight: 170.7 gms. "周新盛號滙號紋銀" (Zhouxinsheng Bank, remittance bank fine silver), "官公估周陳看" (Inspected by official public assayers Zhou and Chen). Beautifully preserved and very attractive, this handsome example exhibits deeply applied outer stamps with bold complete inscriptions. The central stamp is somewhat weak, as is common for this series, with several characters slightly obscured. The assay stamps are nicely centered, though portions of several characters are over the edges and missing. A pleasing and original looking example that is sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters. Estimate: $1000 - $1500 |  |
