Lot description:

CHINA. Yunan Liangchou Jieding. Provincial Two Stamp Remittance Ingot. Silver 4 Tael Bank Ingot, Year 6 (1881). Emperor Guangxu (De Zong). VERY FINE.
Weight: 144.87 gms. "光緒六年祥恒字號" (Guang Xu period 6th year, Xiangheng bank), stamped twice, "囍" (Double happiness). This decently preserved little ingot displays deeply applied stamps with earthen deposits amongst the devices and crevasses. Unfortunately, part of the inscription is obscured and difficult to read making the attribution of the bank name tentative. A wholesome and original looking example of a type that seldom appears and should be considered EXTREMELY RARE and highly desirable.

Estimate: $2000 - $3000
