| Lot description: France Louis XV gold Louis d'Or Mirliton 1724-Z MS62 NGC, Grenoble mint, KM470.24, Dup-1638. Long Palms variety. Boasting the "Top Pop" grade designation from NGC, whilst being tied with two others within, this near-Choice and elusive issue stems from only a two-year mintage. Grenoble serves as a notoriously popular mint for any of the gold issues of the "quatre Louis", especially when examples are found in a Mint State level of preservation. The surfaces appear almost matte here, dawning a beautiful champagne-gold hue on both sides to effortlessly accent the full legends and motifs.
