Obv.: Queen Isabel II in costume, crown and royal mantle, presents the newborn, at her feet, a lion leaning on the oval coat of arms of Spain and behind a throne with canopy, in the background, the sea on which sails a ship and the two worlds between the columns of Hercules, behind, the rising sun. Rev.: Coat of arms of Barcelona with latticework, stamped with a county crown with bat on top, between attributes of Commerce, Industry, Sciences and Arts, on the sides, the Besós and the Llobregat rivers, represented as two old men reclining with a rudder and a pitcher from which water flows, in the background, two trains running in opposite directions, the walled factory city, Montjuic and behind it, the sea.
