Levon I was the first King of Cilician Armenia. He united the baronies to establish a powerful kingdom, and assisted the European Crusaders during the Third Crusade. His coinage reflects his assumption of power, depicting him regally posed seated on lion throne, and holding both a globus cruciger and a lis.
