Obverse: British and French soldiers stand, facing each other, before a drum, flags, and cannon; Perimeter legend, date in exergue; Reverse: Laurel wreath with bow, six-line legend within. The Anglo-French Alliance was formed in the aftermath of Russia's occupation of the Turkish Danubian Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia (modern Romania) - signaling the start of the Crimean War.
