BHM 2561; Eimer-1496; Page-Divo-233. By Benjamin Wyon. Diameter: 76mm. Obverse: Three-quarter jugate busts of Napoléon III and Eugénie, left, perimeter legend, signature below busts; Reverse: Britannia, center, presenting France, right, to London, left; perimeter legend, legend and date in exergue below. Napoléon and Eugénie were presented to the Mayor and Corporation of the City of London at the Guildhall. Napoléon gave an address reaffirming cooperation between Britain and France in the Crimean War. A large and historic medal in a fantastic state of preservation; only a very slight reverse rim bruise prevents this medal from being choice gem. Glossy surfaces with essentially no marks. From the City of London series.
