Wurzbach-9365. By J. Tautenhayn & A. Scharff. Diameter: 73mm. Obverse: Personification of Victory standing slightly left, holding spear, trampling upon fallen Turkish soldier, and protecting civic personification of Vienna to right with shield; personification of Law to left; Reverse: Medallions containing the busts of those allied against the Turks: Emperor Leopold I, Charles V (Duke of Lorraine), Johann Andreas von Liebenberg (Mayor of Vienna), Ernst Rüdiger von Starhemberg (Military Governor of Vienna), and John III Sobieski (King of Poland); elegant scrollwork and ornamentation in and around. Highly impressive and detailed, with great brilliance throughout. An excellent combination from two celebrated engravers.
