Issued only for this one date before the arrival of the more standardized portrait type, this 2 Escudos is a remarkable survivor. Devoid of any damage or distractions, the coin offers wholesome surfaces with only moderate, even circulation evident. This example escapes the typical excessive softness in the center, allowing a fairly detailed look at the distinctive portrait. Muted golden brilliance shines throughout with subtle reddish accents.
