ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ / A 1876 Mature head of George I to right; below truncation, in tiny letters, BAPPE. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ Crowned and mantled coat of arms of the Kingdom of Greece; below, 100 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ flanked by the privy marks bee (for the Mint Director, Renouard de Bussière, 1860-1879), on the left, and an anchor (for the Engraver General, A. The 100 Drachmas 1876 stands out as one of the most renowned of all Greek modern coins. Examples in "Mint State" (MS) are exceptionally uncommon: it is worth noting that no example has ever previously appeared at auction.
