Fals (Bronze, 22 mm, 2.85 g, 3 h), 'Standing Caliph' type, Al-Ruha (Edessa), AH 74-80 = AD 693/4-699/700. Caliph standing facing, bearded, placing his right hand on the pommel of his sword; downwards to left, 'Muhammad' in Kufic; downwards to right, 'Rasul Allah' ('Prophet of Allah' in Kufic). Rev. Transformed cross standing on three steps; in field to left, mint name 'al-Ruha' in Kufic); around, 'bism Allah la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu Muhammad rasul Allah' ('In the name of Allah, there is no God but Allah alone; Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah').
