Lot description:

2022 Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Platinum 50 Pence. Coronation Obverse. First Platinum Jubilee Assayed. Queen Elizabeth II. Trial of the Pyx Test Piece. Jessopp Facsimile Signature Label. Brilliant Proof (NGC).
19.10 g of .9995 Platinum. 27.30mm. Maximum Mintage 150. A truly historic issue that represents the very first time the 50 pence denomination has been used to celebrate a royal event. It is made even more desirable by begin struck in .9995 platinum. The obverse exhibits a commemorative portrait of The Queen created by John Bergdahl, who took inspiration from previous equestrian portraits of Her Majesty, adding the royal garter to create a truly unique portrait. The reverse features a bold, graphical celebration by the design agency Osborne Ros displaying a prominent "70" to mark the Queen's seven decade reign.

From a Collection of Historic Test Pieces from the 2023 Trial of the Pyx, Presented on Behalf of The Royal Mint.
