Stuart Halfcrowns (4) | Charles I (1625-1649), Group III, Type 3b, Halfcrown, 1635-1636, Tower (under Parliament), third horseman King trotting left, sword upright, rev. oval garnished shield, plume over shield, 14.60g, 10h, m.m crown (Brooker 331-333; North 2210; Spink 2774), scratched, with dark glossy surfaces, about very fine, better in the legends; Group III, Type 3a2, third horseman King trotting left wearing cloak, sword upright, rough ground below, rev. oval garnished shield, 14.71g, 6h, m.m triangle (Brooker 352; North 2212; Spink 2776), slightly ragged to the edges and some metal stressing to the reverse, dark silver tone, about very fine; Group III, Type 3a3 [Brooker Type 4], Halfcrown, 1645-1646, Tower (under Parliament), crude third horseman King trotting left, sword upright, rev. oval garnished shield, 14.79g, 5h, m.m sun (Brooker 362-363; North 2213; Spink 2778), soft to the horseman and parts of the legends, almost very fine; finally, Charles II (1660-1685), Third Hammered Issue, Halfcrown, undated, crowned and draped bust left, value behind, rev. square-topped shield over cross moline, 9.98g, 6h, m.m crown (ESC 302; North 2761 Spink 3321), short of flan to the legends, mostly flat and punched to the portrait, fair (4).
