| Lot description: UMAYYAD: AE fals (2.45g), al-Sus, ND, A-G205, classic Umayyad period design, with the kalima divided between obverse & reverse, Arabic word rawâj ("current") below the obverse, the mint name below the reverse; unpublished and apparently the first known Umayyad fals of al-Sus, F-VF, RRR. Al-Sus is well attested for Arab-Sasanian copper pashiz, with most or all the legends in Pahlavi, and for Abbasid fulus dated AH151-173. Estimate: 200-300 USD Starting price: 170 USD |  |
