Lot description:

GREAT BRITAIN. Copper 1/4 Penny Pattern, 1713. Anne. PCGS PROOF-62 Brown.
Peck-764 (R). A most interesting and somewhat controversial piece, as there is some doubt if this piece was intended to be a Pattern issue, or a medallet produced to celebrate the peace of Utrecht. Whatever the case, this general type is RARE, and consistently demanded as part of the British coinage cannon. The present representative is nicely struck, with the typical double strike and handsomely woodgrain brown colored.

Estimate: $1500 - $2000
