Lot description:

GREAT BRITAIN. Commonwealth. Gold Broad of 20 Shillings Pattern, 1656. London Mint. Oliver Cromwell (as Lord Protector). PCGS Genuine--Repaired, Proof. Unc Details.
S-3225; Fr-273; N-2744; WR-39; KM-Pn25. Outside of the noted repair, which presents in the form of some scratches and an attempted spot removal near the left side of the reverse legend, this impressive and VERY RARE pattern issue stands without much in the way of actual handling. A good deal of charming brilliance remains in the fields, with the toning offering a delightful burnished orange nature nearer the peripheries. A tremendous opportunity for a rather difficult coin with much fanfare and very little in its way to detract. To view all items from the Lucius S. Rudder Collection, click here.
