Lot description:

GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign, ND (1551-53). London Mint; mm: У. Edward VI. PCGS Genuine--Damage, AU Details.
S-2450; Fr-186; N-1927. Weight: 11.00 gms. Obverse: Crowned and armored half-length bust right, holding orb and sword over shoulder; Reverse: Crowned coat-of-arms with crowned leopard and griffin as supporters; all set on ornate frame with central titulus inscribed ER. A fairly SCARCE and impressive denomination, this broad gold issue presents some evidence of light wear and minor striking weakness, but otherwise remains without problem outside of the abrasion near the midsection of the lion supporter. A great chance for a difficult coin from the brief reign of Henry VIII's only son. To view all items from the Lucius S. Rudder Collection, click here.
