GREAT BRITAIN. Anglo-Saxon. Danish East Anglia. Penny, ND (ca. 895-918). Uncertain Mint in East Anglia; Daegmund, moneyer. St. Edmund memorial coinage. PCGS AU-58.
S-960; N-483; BMC-370. Obverse: + OC EARMVNE, large stylized A in center; Reverse: + DΛIENO(ME)D NOT; cross pattée. Impressively centered and struck to razor-sharp definition, the legends intact and fully legible throughout. The surfaces are wholesome and deeply toned, with original luster shining forth beneath the thick patina. RARE so fine and even slightly conservatively graded in the opinion of the cataloguer.
