Lot description: FRANCE. Ecu d'Or, ND (1380-1422). Charles VI. NGC MS-63. Fr-291; Dup-369. Weight: 3.94 gms. Obverse: Crowned coat-of-arms; Reverse: Cross fleurdelisee and feuillue, with star in center; all within quadrilobe; lis at end of each arc, crown in spandrels. Quite pleasing and fully deserved of the Choice designation, this handsome gold Ecu delivers a full strike with essentially a complete peripheral legend, both elusive traits on the issue. Signs of handling are largely absent, with a bright and pleasant luster giving this coin a fresh original appeal. Estimate: $1500 - $2500 |
