Struck 871-circa 875. + AELFRED REX, diademed and draped bust right / + DE(NE)VAL across central field; · D MON · · ETΛ :· in lunettes above and below, respectively. Lyons & MacKay, Lunettes Afl2.19 (dies B/b) = Blunt & Dolley, "The Hoard Evidence for the Coinage of Alfred," in BNJ 29 (1959), p. 229 = C.
