ANGLO-SAXON, Kings of Mercia. Offa. 757-796. AR Penny (17mm, 1.30 g, 4h). Light coinage, non-portrait type. London mint; Ealhmund, moneyer. Struck circa 785-792/3. O F A (RX) within the angles of a lozenge cross fleury with central pellet-in-annulet surrounded by four pellets / +/ALH/MUN/∂ divided by a beaded bar with fleury ends. EMC 2011.0257 (this coin); Chick 39; SCBI 67 (BM), 73; North 282; SCBC 904
. Toned some light porosity in high points, minor deposits. Near EF. A well struck example of an elegant type.
