The Three Emperors (Dreikaiser) series with the busts of Maximilian I, Charles V, and Ferdinand I . | UNC Extremely Rare Dreikaiser (Three Emperors) Type B 10 Ducats in Ginza Coin Auction (GCA) GCA will be held on Nov.18(Sat), 2023. The most remarkable lot is Lot No.823 a Bohemia MatthiasⅡ1612-19 Prague mint Dreikaiser 10 Ducats graded NGC MS 60 with a starting price of 30,000,000 JPY (about $200,000). Dreikaiser 10 Ducats feature showing three emperors on the obverse. They include two different types (type A and type B as tentative names) whose reverse sides’ designs are completely different from each other. While the reverse of type A depicts a double-headed eagle, the reverse of type B depicts a bust of MatthiasⅡ. Experts are quoted as saying that while five to six type A pieces remain, only two type B pieces are known to exist. Besides type A came to 2022 GCA, which realized JPY 72,230,000 (about $480,000), type B comes to 2023 GCA. This type B is considered virtually uncollectable by numismatists.
