Bohemia, Matthias II gold 10 Ducats ND(1612-1619), 34.71g, Prague mint, KM-145, FR-14a(108), NGC(MS60), VERY RARE. The Three Emperors (Dreikaiser) series with the busts of Maximilian I, Charles V, and Ferdinand I . | UNC

Extremely Rare Dreikaiser (Three Emperors) Type B

10 Ducats in Ginza Coin Auction (GCA)

GCA will be held on Nov.18(Sat), 2023.

The most remarkable lot is Lot No.823 a Bohemia MatthiasⅡ1612-19

Prague mint Dreikaiser 10 Ducats graded NGC MS 60 with a starting price of 30,000,000 JPY (about $200,000).

Dreikaiser 10 Ducats feature showing three emperors on the obverse. They include two different types (type A and type B as tentative names) whose reverse sides’ designs are completely different from each other.

While the reverse of type A depicts a double-headed eagle, the reverse of type B depicts a bust of MatthiasⅡ.

Experts are quoted as saying that while five to six type A pieces remain, only two type B pieces are known to exist.

Besides type A came to 2022 GCA, which realized JPY 72,230,000 (about $480,000), type B comes to 2023 GCA.

This type B is considered virtually uncollectable by numismatists. Also, rumor has it that Western museums desire custodianship of this piece.

It’s absolutely sure to be competing aggressively among bidders.

Starting price: 30000000 JPY
